Tropic Manor Apartments will consist of a total of 10 affordable rental apartments with six-two bedroom/one and a half bath units with 960 square feet and four-three bedroom/two bath units with 1260 square feet contained in one 2-story building.
The target population if very low to low income disabled veterans and their children. One population that has increased recently is disabled veteran women.
There will be a total of 30 parking spaces with a designated car wash area. The nicely wooded .69 acre parcel, located near the intersection of Tropic Street and Rock Pit Road in Titusville.
The attractively designed two story building will be of ICF AMVIC (Solid Poured Concrete) construction with 30-year expected life roofing, wall insulation of R-30 and attic insulation of R-30. All units will have energy efficient central air conditioning and heat, marble window sills, window treatments, termite prevention and pest control throughout the affordability period, peephole on all steel exterior doors and exterior lighting in open and common areas. Kitchens will be fully equipped with energy efficient appliances including oven, range refrigerator, dishwasher, double compartment kitchen sink and garbage disposal. All units will have laundry hookups and space for full-size washer and dryer and ceiling fans in all bedrooms and living areas.
All units will be income restricted with 40% (4-units) at or below 50% AMI with 20% (2-units) at or below 30% AMI. The remaining 60% (6-units) will be restricted to families at or below 60% AMI.
